Original story (published on May 5, 2023) follows:

Roku is a popular streaming device that allows users to access a wide range of content, including live TV and free streaming channels.

However, some Roku users have reported issues related to Live TV or free streaming channels not working. If you are having such issues, then find solace in knowing that you aren’t the only one having problems lately.

According to reports (1, 2, 3), the Live TV and free streaming channels are not working for a section of Roku subscribers and the only channels that are accessible are pay-to-watch channels.

Here are some reports for reference:

the Roku channel and live tv options have stopped working as of right now on both my Roku insignia tvs…what’s going on? the only channels showing are the pay to watch channels… (Source)

I have tried everything that I instructed to and nothing is working, it just keeps saying unable to connect to wireless network… (Source)

@TheRokuChannel is the roku channel down? it stopped working on my tv even after doing a factory reset, everything else is working fine though (Source)

Users say that they suddenly lost all the live channels and the guide says ‘All channels hidden’.

Unfortunately, the support team hasn’t yet acknowledged this problem and we hope that they fix it soon since users are unable to stream free channels and Live TV.

But luckily, there is a potential workaround suggested by one of those affected that might help you fix this problem. So you can try it out and see if it helps.

OK, I just went to Settings > TV inputs > Live TV > Hide streaming TV channels and selected Hide all, and my broadcast channels came back. Hope this helps. (Source)
