Cash App, a widely-used mobile payment platform available in both the United States and the United Kingdom, enables users to conveniently transfer funds directly from their mobile devices.

The app was founded in October 2013 by Bob Lee and managed to gain a significant amount of users since then. As of September 2021, the platform recorded 70 million users.

Recently, there was a rumor going around that the Cash App would be shutting down after its founder was killed in a tragic incident. However, that rumor is not true, and the app will continue to be available.

Cash app duplicate or double charges issue

The app was working perfectly fine until some of its users reported that the app is charging them double amount of what they actually have to pay.

Cash App users are reporting duplicate or double charges for certain transactions. Here are some reports for reference:

Thankfully, Cash App support has acknowledged this bug and they’ve confirmed that the team is actively working to resolve it. However, they didn’t provide any ETA for the fix.

Update 1 (June 28, 2023)

08:53 am (IST): Cash App support has now confirmed that the issue where users were getting double charged has now been resolved.

We recently discovered a technical issue with Cash Card that caused some customers to get charged double the amount for certain transactions. We’ve fixed the issue. We have begun notifying impacted customers and are issuing refunds. Customers will see balances updated by EOD. (Source)
