Bungie constantly evolves Destiny 2 with new content and features on a regular basis. The developers also frequently introduce limited-time Seasonal Challenges that allow players to earn various rewards.
Generally, one needs to complete activities using specific weapons or abilities or explore different parts of the in-game world to complete such challenges.
Bungie recently launched the ‘Battle Rhythm’ challenge, which requires players to defeat targets using Auto Rifles, Hand Cannons, Scout rifles, and much more. By doing so, you can earn bonus progress.

But according to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Destiny 2 players are facing an issue where the Battle Rhythm Seasonal Challenge progression in Destiny 2 is not working or is broken.
They claim that the challenge is not making progress when using some weapon types or while defeating targets across various locations in the game’s system.
Gamers are frustrated and annoyed due to the frequent occurrence of bugs in basic features, triumphs, and seasonal challenges.
They argue that the recent update broke the matchmaking for several hours, and now Week 5’s Seasonal Challenge is not tracking any progress at all.
One of those affected says that even after changing multiple weapons, the challenge does not progress any further.
On the other hand, another player asserts that they were able to complete this challenge by playing in Strikes cooperative mode.
Anyone else frustrated by how often triumphs/seasonal challenges/basic features end up buggy? First matchmaking is broken for the first few hours of the update and now Week 5 Seasonal Challenge “Battle Rhythm” won’t track any progress whatsoever.

I got mine to work in strikes, but since matchmaking is broken I finished the entire challenge in one run, meaning I haven’t been able to test what else works.

Luckily, some are able to progress through the challenge using scout rifles in Crucible matches and by playing it in ritual playlists. Those affected are now requesting the developers to fix this glitch as soon as possible.
Official acknowledgment and potential workaround
Fortunately, the Bungie support team is aware of the issue and is currently investigating it. However, no ETA for the bug fix has been provided.
It has also been stated that you can successfully complete this challenge in the Crucible, Gambit, or Vanguard Ops playlists.
We are hopeful that Bungie will address this issue soon.
