Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 22, 2023) follows:

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has taken the gaming world by storm, offering players an immersive experience in the Star Wars universe.

The game features a bounty hunting system that allows Cal to take on various contracts from Caij, a Twi’lek informant who works for the Hutt Cartel.

Caij can be found on different planets and offers Cal bounties that range from capturing or killing targets, to retrieving items or information, to sabotaging or destroying facilities or vehicles.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor bounty hunting bug

However, several players have reported a bug that prevents them from getting new bounties from Caij (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8)

Star Wars Jedi Survivor bounty hunting bug

According to reports from the affected players, the rumor to talk to Caij about new bounties still exists in the game. When players engage in conversation with her, they are met with disappointment.

Caij appears to engage in chatter, discussing random topics that have no relevance to the bounty hunting. Players are left with no choice but to exhaust her dialogue options, hoping that new bounty assignments will appear.

Unfortunately, once all the dialogue options have been exhausted, Caij refuses to speak with them altogether, compounding the frustration.

Normally, players would receive new bounties from Caij after completing their previous ones. But, the bug disrupts this process, leaving players with no new assignments even if they have unfinished bounties.

I’m after finishing the game and currently trying to find and defeat all the bounties but Caij won’t give me anymore. I’m still 3 bounty targets away from finishing it and still have four more pucks to find so idk if I’m missing something. (Idk if it matters but I do have the puck from the hologame).

Anyone else running into an issue where caij will no longer give you bounties? I’ve finished the story and most side activities but she won’t give me any new bounties and I’m out of dialogue options. I’m at 11/16 bounties completed

This issue prevents players from progressing in the game’s bounty hunting quests, effectively stalling their gameplay.

Issue acknowledged

A EA and Respawn team member acknowledged this issue and said that they are working on a fix. However, it has now been two weeks, leaving players to worry if and when a fix will be applied.

Unfortunately, we haven’t come across any potential workaround that can temporarily fix Star Wars Jedi Survivor bounty hunting bug.

So, it seems those affected have to wait until the devs address this bug.

Update 1 (May 23, 2023)

06:12 pm (IST): A player successfully uncovered the bounty hunter’s whereabouts simply by exploring the area, bypassing the need for any communication with Caij.

I have never really talked to Caij for the rumours I have just been going around exploring everywhere and a bounty hunter pops up every now and then

It might be worth your while to attempt the same method.

Update 2 (May 24, 2023)

05:58 pm (IST): As per some players (1, 2, 3), this bug is preventing gamers from getting the platinum trophy since one of the required trophies is directly related to completing the bounty hunting quests.

Update 3 (May 25, 2023)

03:10 pm (IST): If you are playing this game on Xbox, you may be able to fix the issue by rebooting the console:

I had one issue with the one in Forest Array but after completely rebooting the console it got fixed, on Xbox Series X though Try rest a few times and reboot game and see

Update 4 (May 26, 2023)

04:23 pm (IST): There’s a new related bug that seems to occur when starting a ‘New Game+’ where the game says that the player hunted all the bounties after only killing one.

Update 5 (May 29, 2023)

06:15 pm (IST): Fresh reports (1, 2, 3, 4) suggest that Bounty Hunter Bug persists in the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. As a result, the Bounty menu stays at ‘Undiscovered’ and players can’t unlock it to progress in the quest/game.

Update 6 (May 30, 2023)

04:44 pm (IST): There’s another potential workaround that could help you resolve the bug:

Update 7 (May 31, 2023)

04:39 pm (IST): There are players frustrated by the official silence after more than two weeks (1, 2).

Update 8 (June 1, 2023)

04:57 pm (IST): According to a player, the only current way to complete all the bounty hunting rumors is to start a new game.

However, it can’t be a ‘New Game+’ but a fresh New Game, because if the bounties were bugged during your current adventure, a ‘New Game+’ based on that save file will also be bugged.

Update 9 (June 2, 2023)

04:52 pm (IST): A player detected that a patch candidate was recently created by EA, which indicates that the game will receive a new update soon (1, 2).

However, it is still unknown if the patch in question will bring the fix to the ‘bounty hunting bug’.

Update 10 (June 5, 2023)

04:19 pm (IST): Jedi Survivor players are reporting that bounty pucks (the rewards obtained by completing each bounty hunting quest) are also bugged.

They describe situations like not getting the bounty pucks they should after completing all the bounty hunting quests, or finding bounty pucks out of nowhere without completing any (1, 2).

Update 11 (June 6, 2023)

04:49 pm (IST): According to a player, EA team would have already found a fix and would be doing tests before its implementation.

Update 12 (June 7, 2023)

04:59 pm (IST): According to a player, currently only 2.75% of Jedi Survivor players on PS5 have achieved the platinum trophy, which suggests that the bug is affecting many.

Update 13 (June 8, 2023)

04:59 pm (IST): There are players for whom the bug appears from the beginning. That is, the entire ‘bounty hunting’ section has always been locked for them.

Update 14 (June 12, 2023)

04:55 pm (IST): In order to get all the trophies related to the bounty hunting quests, players have had to do multiple playthroughs starting a New Game each time due to the bug.

Update 15 (June 13, 2023)

09:57 pm (IST): EA has once again responded to one of the affected players by saying that they are still working on the bounty hunting bug. Hopefully, it’ll now be resolved soon.

We’re working on it! 🛠️ We appreciate your patience on this one!

Update 16 (June 14, 2023)

04:11 pm (IST): According to players, the most common pattern is getting stuck at 11/16 completed bounties in the first playthrough due to the bug (1, 2, 3, 4).

Note: We have more such stories in our dedicated gaming section, so be sure to follow them as well.

Update 17 (June 15, 2023)

05:02 pm (IST): A player confirmed that the ‘bounty hunting bug’ will also affect a ‘New Game+’ derived from a previously bugged save file.

So, the best way to complete these quests and get the trophies is to start a totally New Game (not Plus).

Update 18 (June 16, 2023)

04:50 pm (IST): The dev team confirmed that the next patch is ready and will be deployed ‘soon’. The patch includes a fix for the ‘bounty hunting bug’ and other issues:

– Bounty progression
– Crashes across all platforms
– Bug fixes and improvements
– And more!

Update 19 (June 19, 2023)

06:45 pm (IST): We have come across a method by which you can track the progress on the patch.

Update 20 (June 20, 2023)

05:35 pm (IST): A Redditor said that EA might take some time to release the patch in order to fix all the issue so that the previous patch situation, that introduced some new game-breaking bugs, doesn’t happen again.
