Developed by JumpStart Games, School of Dragons is an immersive role-playing game based on the popular animated film ‘How to Train Your Dragon’. The game for sure has been a hit among the masses ever since its release.

Recently, the developers made an announcement stating that they will be completely discontinuing support for the game, and that the servers will be shut down completely on June 30, 2023.

Additionally, saved game progress, in-game items, and any user data will be unavailable after this date.

Change.org petition to save School of Dragons

However, by looking at the reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), it appears that this news has not been well received by fans. They have dedicated countless years to this game and just can’t believe that it’s actually shutting down.

Players also add that the game holds a special place in their hearts. Others claim that it has been a part of their childhood and that there are still loyal players who cherish it.

This is undeniably a piece of bad news for all those who have recently purchased memberships or gems from the in-game store. Understandably, they have only a few days left to enjoy playing this game.

One of those affected says that it’s disheartening to see the game go, as it holds immense sentimental value for them. They also stated that they would like to enjoy playing the game until it’s available.

Another gamer claims they have never played a game like this before.

Wish they’d let players download their characters and dragons and the game allowing players to play it an offline mode as is or host their own servers is really disappointing that anyone who spent money will have lost out completely. I don’t want to lose my dragons in this game 🙂

It’s also noteworthy that the rumors of the game’s closure were also there in May. As per the report, it was being speculated that JumpStart could be shut down by it’s Chinese owner after Neopets lawsuit.

However, players are still optimistic and believe that they can save the School of Dragons from being shut down, and as a result, they have started a petition on Change.org.

Notably, at the time of writing this piece, a total of 783 players have already signed the petition.
