Pluto TV ‘excessive or too frequent ads’

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Pluto TV users have recently started getting excessive or too frequent ads. Some even assert that the ads appear after every ten seconds.

This issue has sparked frustration among viewers who feel that the frequency of ads interrupts their viewing experience. Pluto TV uses an ad-supported model, which allows users to access content without paying a membership fee.

While commercials are a crucial part of this model, striking the right balance between content and advertisements is critical in ensuring a positive user experience.

Even users believe that free streaming isn’t worth it when the service shows you three to six ads consecutively after every few minutes.

One of those affected says that they receive a series of commercials after watching an on-demand show for roughly ten minutes.

It has also been claimed that the actual show plays for a very short period of time in between the subsequent advertisements.

Another viewer alleges that the platform starts displaying ads mid-scene.

Love your service and selections. Need to work on your on demand area. Way too many commercials being played on a movie or sitcom. Sometimes twice. Annoying 😞

The ad breaks seem to be coming twice in less than 5 minutes or just longer than that. Glitch or this is normal? If it’s normal than this is a horrible ad-to-content ratio.

People are now requesting the developers to fix this glitch quickly so that they can enjoy binge-watching their favorite content.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, Pluto TV has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently working on fixing it. However, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.
