Twitter, a social media platform with over 330 million active users, offers its users diverse features to connect and communicate with others worldwide.
One such feature that Twitter provides is the group direct messaging (DM) option, which enables users to converse with multiple people at the same time.
However, this feature has been causing some frustration among users lately.
Twitter group DM issue where users get removed when blocked
It has come to light that if one member of a Twitter DM group blocks another member, then that blocked member gets removed from the group, with no possibility of rejoining.

This issue has caused significant concern among Twitter users who rely on Group DMs for communication and collaboration.
Imagine being part of a Twitter DM group with colleagues, friends, or like-minded individuals who share common interests.
Suddenly, due to the actions of one person, you find yourself removed from the group and unable to participate in ongoing discussions, share updates, or collaborate with others.
This flaw in Twitter’s Group DM functionality not only hampers communication but also disrupts the flow of information and stifles community building.
gm @elonmusk the dm’s feature where any user in a group dm can remove another user w/o admin consent is a bad feature…been in many group dms where this feature is used maliciously… can @Twitter devs do sth?

Fix coming soon
Thankfully, it seems that relief is on the horizon. According to T(w)itter Daily News, Elon Musk took notice of this issue and expressed his intent to address it:

It is worth noting that the current behavior of Twitter group DMs issue wherein users get removed from group may have been an intentional design choice.
Blocking a user on Twitter is a personal decision, and it is understandable that individuals may want to avoid interactions with someone they find disruptive or unpleasant.
However, the unintended consequence of automatically removing the member from a group due to a single block raises concerns about fairness and user experience.
Elon Musk’s recognition of the problem and his commitment to fixing it have given hope to Twitter users.
