The later is the case with a recent update to the iOS app that has left users perplexed and dissatisfied, as they have noticed a sudden change in the appearance of Instagram Story icons (1,2,3,4,5,6,7)

Instagram is widely appreciated for its visually appealing and aesthetically pleasing interface. The sudden enlargement or zooming in of the story icons disrupts the visual harmony and consistency of the platform.

Users have grown accustomed to the previous icon size, and this sudden change is jarring and affects their overall experience on the platform.

Over time, users develop muscle memory and familiarity with the placement and size of various elements within an app.

So, this Story icons new size is causing distraction while scrolling the feed or is just unappealing to Instagram users.
