[Updated] Diablo 4 'The Curator' boss disappearing or vanishing in Capstone Dungeon? Try these workarounds

Blizzard Team 3 recently launched the v1.0.2d update for Diablo 4, which introduces bug fixes to some known issues and class balance changes.

For instance, the patch fixes the glitch where a Sorcerer would get permanently stunned if they used Deep Freeze and got affected by another effect simultaneously.

The latest update also addresses the bug where pressing the ‘Go to Shop’ button from the Wardrobe would not open the shop.

However, despite the update some are facing issues.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Diablo 4 players are experiencing an issue where the Curator boss keeps disappearing or vanishing in the Capstone Dungeon.

Allegedly, the boss despawns or falls off the map, making it impossible for gamers to kill him. However, they can still hear the movement or attacking sounds after the boss moves out.

But to make matters worse, one cannot teleport to an area outside the dungeon or save and exit the game.

Due to this, players are unable to complete the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon and progress towards World Tier 3.

A gamer says that the boss vanished as soon as they reduced his hitpoints by 1/3 of the original. They also mentioned that they were playing in multiplayer mode.

Another player claims to have faced this issue even after fighting the boss three times in a row.

@Blizzard_Ent @Diablo I tried to complete the curator twice now on a necromancer and got hardlocked with the boss disappearing after his first add phase?????

Please fix The Curator fight. He keeps disappearing and then have to reset fight. It’s rough.

Some even have to forcefully quit the game and re-play the entire dungeon. Gamers are now requesting the developers to resolve this issue.

Fortunately, we did come across some potential workarounds that might help solve your problem. Firstly, you can try fighting ‘The Curator’ boss without using summons.

Alternatively, you can try battling him after removing the wolf pet skill.

We are hopeful that Blizzard Team 3 will soon officially acknowledge and resolve this issue.

Having said that, we’ll keep tabs on this topic and update this article as soon as we come across any noteworthy information.

05:46 pm (IST): Blizzard support has acknowledged the issue with ‘The Curator’ and said that they are working to fix it.

We have received several reports of this issue and can confirm it is not working as intended. Currently, we do not have a workaround or resolution that can be provided. We apologize for any inconvenience while our developers work as quickly as possible to resolve the issue. (Source)
