Back in April, YouTube TV and Sinclair, the owner of the Tennis Channel, reached an agreement to offer the channel’s broadcast on the platform from June 1.
But sadly, when the big day came, tennis fans were unable to find it on YouTube TV. And this too happened after a very recent announcement by the company regarding the same.
It is quite disappointing on the company’s part that they were unable to keep their promise and broadcast the French Open tournament on the platform.

And understandably, those affected (1,2,3,4,5,6) have taken to Reddit to express their frustration. One of those affected claims to have missed the French Open early rounds.
While another user says that they have been unable to find the channel since midnight PST on June 1.
Some have even questioned the point of making such an announcement if the channel was not going to launch on the mentioned date itself.

However, later users found out that the reason people were not seeing the Tennis Channel was because YouTube TV and Sinclair had not stated the entire scope of its availability.
Apparently, the channel is not available to every YouTube TV subscriber. And as per the claims, one needs to subscribe to the Sports Plus add-on pack, which allegedly costs an extra $10.99 per month.
But surprisingly, there are no mentions of the same on the Tennis Channel on YouTube TV’s support page.
The official page does state that one can get access to various channels like beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS XTRA, Billiard TV, FOX Soccer Plus, and much more.
However, there is no disclaimer that one will also get access to the Tennis Channel after subscribing to this pack. And this is without a doubt wrong on the company’s part.
Users are quite disappointed to see that the platform has not mentioned such an important detail in any of the recent announcements as well. They even assert that this is a move that a cable company would probably make.
It’s noteworthy that Tennis Channel was on the basic plan until it was withdrawn three years ago. However, some are supportive of the company’s recent decision to include it in the Sports addon pack.
They understand that Tennis Channel’s pricing per subscriber is quite high for the specialized material they deliver.
That said, we will keep an eye on this issue and update this article to reflect noteworthy information.
