[Updated] Destiny 2 'Exotic Armor Focusing' dropping with lower stats than intended, issue under investigation
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on May 25, 2023) follows:
Bungie recently released the Season of the Deep update that introduces bug fixes to some known issues and gameplay balances.
For instance, the patch fixes the issues where players were unable to kill Nezarec in Root of Nightmares and some Strand kills were not counting towards patrol progress.
The update also addresses the glitches where a Well of Radiance cast would do more damage than intended and the active Triumph score would not fit in one line on the Triumphs page.

Along with this, Exotic armor focusing has been introduced in the game, allowing players to take Exotic engrams to Rahool and get them exchanged for Exotic armor. However, some are unhappy.
Destiny 2 ‘Exotic Armor Focusing’ dropping with lower stats than intended
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), multiple Destiny 2 players are experiencing issues with Exotic armor focusing, which is affecting their game play experience negatively.
After the recent update, Exotic engrams no longer auto-decrypt and remain in their original form inside one’s inventory.
With the newly introduced feature, gamers can focus an engram to receive a random roll of a specific Exotic.

Gamers complain that on exchanging their rare Exotic engrams, they get armor with low stats. But instead, they should be getting armor with better statistics.
One of those affected says they got a 59-stat armor after focusing on Star-Eater Scales instead of the one in the mid-60s as promised by Bungie.
This has understandably got them upset, and they have taken to the web forums to express their concerns about the same.
Hey @Bungie @DestinyTheGame @Destiny2Team your focused exotic armor roles are garbage. Actually make them 65+ or lower the cost. This is horrendous.

@BungieHelp RE: Exotic focusing. Given the high cost of this, the stats and distribution need to be better.

Those affected are now requesting that the developers fix this glitch so that they can get armor with high stats in exchange for Exotic engrams.
Official acknowledgment
Fortunately, the Bungie support team is aware of the issue and is currently investigating it. Although no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

We are hopeful that Bungie will resolve this issue quickly.
That said, we will continuously monitor this issue and update this article to reflect the latest information.
