Rainbow Six Siege, developed by Ubisoft, is a popular tactical first-person shooter game that has gathered a huge fan base ever since its initial launch that took place in 2015.

However, the recent Y8S2 update has unfortunately introduced several issues that have impacted the gaming experience for many players.

Some players have reported that the recent Rainbow Six Siege Y8S2 update broke Killcam audio. Specifically, the audio during the Killcam replay has vanished.

Moreover, some are reporting (1, 2, 3) that they can’t properly hear voice chat in the new season.

As a result, players are unable to hear any sounds that would provide important in order to make the next move in the game. Here are some reports for reference:

In a kill cam or end of match replay the audio cuts out completely, additionally there will occasionally be a drawn out gun fire the entire game which makes it hard to hear actual gun fire, footsteps or any other very important audio. (Source)

There’s no audio in the end of round replay. Sometimes it’s not there for one second and other times it just isnt there at all. (Source)

Continuous gun shot noise

Another issue that is happening after the Y8S2 update involves the persistent occurrence of gunshot noises. Several players have reported hearing the sound of gunfire without any source, creating confusion and disrupting gameplay.

This continuous gunshot noise issue can be highly distracting, making it difficult for players to concentrate on the game.

Audio bug – when you are killed – gunshot glitches repeatedly firing until the next round. It is very loud and you cannot hear much else. Ruin’s the rest of that round. (Source)

FPS drop and crashing issues

Moreover, Some players have noticed a decrease in their game’s frame rate, following the Y8S2 update.

And as if these aforementioned issue weren’t enough, a section of the player base has also reported random crashes since the Y8S2 update.

These crashes can occur at various points during gameplay, that abruptly interrupts the experience and causes players to lose progress.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft hasn’t yet acknowledged any of these issues and when they do, we will inform you by updating this story.
