New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on June 1, 2023) follows:

Hulu is quite a popular streaming service that delights viewers with its broad collection of movies, TV series, and original productions.

The company is also adding several new movies and TV shows that will keep users entertained throughout the month.

For instance, movies like Infinity Pool, Maybe I Do, Chevalier, Dune, Jagged Mind, and much more will be accessible to them in June.

However, there is something that needs Hulu’s urgent attention.

Hulu ‘Full Screen’ button not working on iPhone

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), multiple Hulu subscribers are facing an issue where the ‘Full Screen’ button is not working properly on their iPhones.

Apparently, tapping on the button does not switch the player to full screen mode. This is understandably quite concerning, as one can barely watch a full movie or web series in normal mode.

The smaller screen size also limits ability to fully engage with visuals and cinematic details. Along with this, users may get exposed to multiple distractions, which can spoil their viewing experience.

One of those affected says that they now have to forcefully watch their favorite show, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, in normal mode. And sadly, they are unable to get rid of the problem by closing and opening the app.

Interestingly, some even claim that they are experiencing such an issue with the app for the first time.

The issue has been persistent for the past few days and remains unresolved until now. And as a result, users have taken to web forums to complain about the same.

@hulu_support How come I cant watch a movie full screen on your app (on my new i phone). That tiny screen at the top blows. I see no way to enlarge it.

@hulu_support why isn’t my Hulu working on my iPhone. It won’t let me put the screen full size.

Some have even tried restarting and updating their smartphones and uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but to no avail.

Viewers are now requesting the developers to fix this glitch so they can enjoy watching their favorite shows or movies like they earlier could.

Official response and potential workaround

Fortunately, the Hulu support team on Twitter has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently working on fixing it. However, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

So, it looks like users might have to wait a while before the problem is permanently resolved. For the time being, you can disable rotation lock and turn your phone during playback to switch to full screen mode.
