Google TV app keeps opening automatically
Those affected have been experiencing this problem quite frequently, interrupting their normal usage and causing annoyance. Here are some reports for reference:

I rarely use my tablet to watch TV, so do not appreciate that Google TV automatically lauches nearly every time I open it to do something else. I’ve checked in settings, but don’t see an option to turn this off. Is my only option to uninstall it? (Source)
Google first acknowledged the problem with the Google TV app back in November 2022. At that time, they assured users that they were investigating the issue and working on a solution.
However, the problem persisted, and in April 2023, Google issued another acknowledgment, indicating that they were still actively looking into it.
Unfortunately, the issue remained unresolved. Recently, just a few days ago, Google once again acknowledged the problem, showing that it is still on their radar.
Hi, it’s a bug that is being worked on so engineering is aware. You can either logout of the app or remove it from your handheld device until that fix is found/released. (Source)
This means that affected users will have to wait for developers to fix it. Also, it is important to note that this issue seems to be specific to the Google TV app and not related to other apps or the device.
Rest assured, we will keep an eye out on the latest developments regarding this issue and inform you as and when we come across anything noteworthy.
