[Updated] Google Pixel devices on Android 14 beta 2 stuck on 'Copy Apps & Data' screen ('settings keeps stopping'), potential workarounds

The second Beta of Android 14 was recently released by Google including new features, camera and media enhancements, and more.

It was also made available for various Pixel devices but it seems that some users have already started experiencing issues just like they did in the previous beta 1.1 update.

That said, some Android 14 beta 2 users who are attempting to roll back to Android 13 are having trouble setting up their Google Pixel devices following the rollback.

Apparently, they appear to be frozen on the ‘Copy Apps & Data’ screen (1,2,3,4).

Reports indicate that users are now left without any method to finish setting up and using their device. Additionally, the problem may have occurred on devices that were only being configured for the first time.

Regardless of the options selected, whenever users go near the ‘Copy apps and data’ option, it gives them a ‘Settings keeps stopping’ error message and nothing happens afterwards.

Those affected have tried rebooting their devices several times but to no avail. This is incredibly frustrating for users as they are stuck and have been unable to use their smartphones.

Potential workarounds

Unfortunately, Google has not commented on the issue yet. But we have come across some workarounds that can help fix it. You can check it out below:

Another workaround includes flashing the Beta 14 OTA using ADB sideload and it is reportedly fixing the bug for users.

I managed to solve it, you don’t need to unlock anything, you have to flash the beta 14 ota via adb sideload. the return to 13 is buggy
