Will PlayStation and Xbox publish everyone's party chat content on June 10? Here's the truth

Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

PlayStation and Xbox have a party chat feature that can be used by players to join their friends or other gamers on a video or voice call.

And this can be done while playing games together, watching their favorite web series or movie, or even when they are just hanging out.

Both the companies also make it easy for one to tweak their communication settings and limit the persons that can contact them.

Will PlayStation and Xbox publish everyone’s party chat content?

In April, news started spreading around the internet that both companies are going to release gamers’ private party chat content publicly. And this was reportedly going to happen in May.

This news understandably got several players (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) concerned and worried as they feared that publishing such private chats could spoil their image.

But fortunately, this turned out to be a rumor and a meme shared by an Instagram user on their account.

The image shared stated that ‘Sony to release all PlayStation party chats to the public by May 2023 – I think a lot of us are going to be in trouble’.

And gamers mistook it to be news from an official outlet as the format of the post was quite similar to the real ones.

However, there’s similar news doing rounds lately stating that the companies are going to release this data on June 10. This has been shared on Twitter and TikTok.
