Pocket Casts is a well-known podcast platform and mobile app that lets users find, stream, and manage their podcast subscriptions.

With a variety of features and an intuitive layout, it offers a complete podcast listening experience. Cross-Platform syncing, Smart Playlists and Filters, and Sleep Timer are some of its useful features.

However, we previously highlighted an issue where users started facing an issue where new podcast episodes stopped updating or showing up in the feed.

And now, Pocket Casts users (1,2,3) have been receiving notifications regarding new pricing policies that will soon take effect. And as was to be expected, people are not taking this well.

Just coming on here to say Pocketcast can get fkd with that £40 a year sub.
I understand costs have gone up but that’s just taking the piss.
I’ve moved onto Overcast now which has all the features for free with ads or £8.99 a year with no ads.

It’s worth noting that there have been several price changes this year. While it is true that people will now pay $40 per year, this only applies to new subscribers.

The price of the Podcast Player will increase to $39.99/year on June 14 according to a post published by one of the users along with the new notification alert.

However, the official post shared by a staff member, contains no information about the mentioned date, so it’s possible that they have changed it and will attempt to raise prices for everyone irrespective of old or new users.

As far as current subscribers are concerned, Pocket Casts will continue to cost $14.99 annually. But nobody really knows till how long this is gonna last.
