[Updated] Pluto TV down or not working on Android-powered devices? You're not alone

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on August 30, 2022) follows:

Subscription TV services have plenty of options today. Users have at their disposal huge catalogs of content, with some of these services even available for free.

Pluto TV is one of the best-known options thanks to the large amount of content it offers without having to pay anything to enjoy it.

Like other similar services, you can access the platform through both a web browser and dedicated apps for multiple types of devices.

However, multiple reports indicate that Pluto TV service is currently down or not working on Android-powered devices.

Pluto TV down or not working on Android devices

Social platforms like Twitter are full of reports about the problem. Many Pluto TV users are unable to access the content of the service on their Android devices.

When trying to access Pluto TV, many are getting an error message that says the service ‘Can’t connect, please check your connection and try again’.

@askparamount @PlutoTV app has been down all day. Are you guys fixing the problem? It’s on my Chromecast With Google TV, Tablet and Phone. What’s going on?

How am I supposed to fall asleep if @PlutoTV is down? I have to be very careful about what I fall asleep to because it can affect my dreams… 😔

Apparently, the streaming service outage is only affecting Android devices. This also includes Fire TV devices since the Amazon OS is a fork (modified version) of Android TV.

FYI: @PlutoTV is experiencing an outage affecting Android devices (phones, tablets, Android TV, Google TV) — and it’s impacting Amazon Fire TV users since Fire TV is also built on Android TV.

There is still no official acknowledgment of the issue so it’s unclear if they’re already aware or working on a fix.

We will be monitoring the situation to update this story once new events arise.
