Just in case you’re racking your brain wondering why PayPal isn’t working for you, find solace in the fact that you aren’t the only one facing issues lately.

A quick look at the micro-blogging site Twitter reveals there are many other are affected as well. As per reports, the online payments system isn’t working at all for the past hour or so.

Complainants state that they’re having trouble initiating payments/transactions as PayPal keeps throwing errors. For a quick glance, here are some of the reports:

So I guess the world will just take a break from using Paypal until July 31st at 5AM? Since it is down and not able to be used and there is no customer service available?

Down detector – a popular service that gives information about live outages – also conveys that PayPal is indeed going through a glitch as can be seen in the image below:

While the spike has dropped down from its peak now, fresh reports on Twitter are still trickling in, indicating that there’s still no respite from payment problems on PayPal.

Any official word on the matter? Negative, as of yet. We’re yet to locate a word from the official service channels or their social media handles.

04:41 pm (IST): It seems that many PayPal users were facing issues with the service for hours as they weren’t able to make any transactions.

The company’s support did acknowledge the issue and confirmed that it was escalated to the relevant team for review. Luckily, it seems that the service is once again working as usual for most.

09:48 am (IST): Many users have taken to Twitter to report that PayPal is down or not working for them. Moreover, the user reports on Downdetector also suggests the same.

10:46 am (IST): It seems that the recent outage with PayPal has been resolved as we haven’t come across any fresh user reports on Downdetector.

12:07 am (IST): Many users have taken to Downdetector to report that PayPal is currently down or not working for them.

06:11 pm (IST): PayPal support has acknowledged the recent outage issue and said that the team is working to resolve it.
