Instagram, the successful social platform based on multimedia content, also allows you to publish ‘Stories‘. They are basically temporary posts (24 hours) that stand out on someone’s profile.
People can check whenever they want if others have seen their Stories. However, it seems that Instagram users are currently facing an issue where they are unable to check the ‘views’ counter in their Stories.
Instagram users unable to see ‘views’ in their Stories
According to multiple reports, the ‘views’ counter on Stories is currently inaccessible for Instagram users. When they try to check the view counter, the UI shows ‘0’ or ‘No one has seen this yet’.

@instagram @InstagramComms please somebody fix the views where it shows 0. Instagram is glitching real bad! I’m not the only person that’s tweeting about this problem….

Apparently, it’s only Instagram Stories that are missing the views counter. Notifications of the ‘likes’ received to those stories, on the other hand, are working fine.
Says people hearted my story but they don’t show up in my viewers. I posted a video today and my brother hearted it. But when I click on the viewers it doesn’t even show he looked at the video.

Reports indicate that the issue has been present for at least 3 hours. Unfortunately, there is still no official acknowledgment of the situation from the Instagram team.
Let’s hope that the feature will work properly again soon since it is important not only for normal users, but even for businesses.
For instance, many businesses use Stories to promote their products on Instagram. If they are unable to check the views counter, they won’t be able to tell if the campaign was successful.
We will be monitoring the situation to update this story as events unfold in the future.
