Update 1 (May 18, 2023)

05:11 pm (IST): According to reports, the Fortnite ‘Ready Up’ button has been behaving erratically even for those who haven’t lost it.

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 17, 2023) follows:

Fortnite is one of the most popular games that lets players compete to be the last person standing in the game’s Battle Royale mode.

Created by Epic Games, it has become one of the most influential video games in recent years. However, we have also seen various bugs and issues (1,2,3) that creep up in the game every now and then.

Fortnite ‘Ready Up’ button missing

Several Fortnite players (1,2,3,4,5,6) are now complaining that the ‘Ready Up’ button that is supposed to be available after Battle Royale matches end has been missing or unavailable for the past few days.

Anyone else’s ready up button missing after a match? I have to load back to main lobby and ready up from there. It wasn’t doing that this morning…

I’m having an issue where I can’t ready up for any match and it says that br is disabled, I’m missing out on playing with my friends, I’ve restarted my game multiple times and it doesn’t work

The Ready Up option often helps players prepare for a match when they are in the lobby or matchmaking screen. They are now compelled to return to the lobby and can only ‘spectate’ because the button is no longer present.

This issue is affecting both PC and console players and those affected are asking the developers to fix it. Some are even speculating that it started after the Star Wars update (1,2,3).

Players have also tried restarting the game multiple times but to no avail. They are now only waiting for the next patch to arrive.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, the developers have addressed the issue and state that the Ready Up button in Fortnite is missing or unavailable because of the changes that are currently being made to the game.
