New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 15, 2023) follows:

Instagram is a great platform for keeping up with your friends, family and acquaintances. The app lets users do so by letting them share their pictures and videos in the form of reels.

However, there’s always a chance that people miss out on such moments owing to various reasons. For instance, we recently highlighted how Instagram notifications got bugged lately and stopped loading for some altogether.

And now there seems to be another bug that is preventing users from sharing their and others’ content (posts or reels).

Instagram users unable to repost or share posts on their Stories

That said, a number of Instagram users (1,2,3,4,5,6) have been reporting an issue for the past few days where the app is not letting them repost or share posts on their Stories.

my instagram isn’t showing the share to story option anymore ?? Like for posts this is so annoying

According to reports, Instagram is not showing users the Share or Repost option on their account. As a result, not only are they unable to share their posts or anyone else’s for that matter (1,2,3,4).

We all know that these options are a great way of reminiscing on the past memories and to further relive them by sharing it with others. However, seeing the unavailability of such options is absolutely disheartening for several users.

This bug has surely left a number of users disappointed and have them reach out to the support team for a quick resolution. Moreover, the only options available to them right now is either to send a post to someone directly or via other apps.

Potential workaround

Fortunately, we have come across a potential workaround that can help fix the bug where Instagram users are unable to repost or share posts/reels on their Stories. It involves downloading the older versions of the app.

Those who use the Instagram app on Android device can download the older versions from the APK Mirror repository here.

Do note that Instagram has not acknowledged the issue or commented anything on the matter. So affected users can try using the above-mentioned workaround for the time being.

We hope that the team looks into the reports and comes up with a fix as soon as possible.

We’ll keep tabs on the latest developments and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
