Unfortunately, this is a situation that has been reported on Twitter and Reddit, where users have received ‘SOMEONE DOXXED YO ASS IN discord.gg/courtroom’ message (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9).

Receiving a message like this is alarming as it suggests that the recipient’s personal information has been disclosed on the Discord server.

Doxing is a harmful practice where an individual’s identifiable information is exposed on the internet without their consent.

This information may include their real name, home address, workplace, phone number, financial data, and other personal details. The info is then shared publicly, putting the victim’s privacy and safety at risk.

Within the tweet, several other users have been tagged and it also includes a dubious Discord link. To ensure your safety, it is recommended that you refrain from clicking on the link or joining the server.

This is a ploy to cause panic and coerce you into accepting the invite, potentially putting your personal information at risk.

I log onto Twitter and I get a notification saying I got doxxed on a discord server I go and check. And it’s some esex server fake doxxing people to get people to join. If you get pinged on here and it says you got doxxed at http://discord.gg/courtroom do not join it.

04:49 pm (IST): At the beginning, the accounts publishing the tweet tagging others showed many symptoms of being bots (no profile picture, strange nicknames full of numbers and few followers).

However, now it seems that the message is spreading to real accounts. It is possible that it is due to people accessing the link in the message and granting publishing permissions on their accounts, although this is speculation for now.

So, avoid accessing these types of links or granting any permission on your Twitter account.

05:23 pm (IST): According to some users, the scam has also reached Instagram (1, 2). However, due to the nature of that social platform, its viralization is more difficult.
