New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on April 25, 2023) follows:

Chipotle is a popular fast-food chain and a guilty pleasure for millions. Usually, when you have those ‘guilty pleasure’ meals and the post-burp depression hits, getting rewarded can help you feel a little better.

The restaurant chain rewards eligible customers with rewards that can later be redeemed for additional discounts and free items. However, some are currently having trouble with the points system.

Chipotle points not showing up

Chipotle customers are reporting (1,2,3,4,5) that their reward points are not showing up or missing from their accounts. It appears that the issue primarily affects mobile orders at the moment.

Ideally, each time a customer places an order, they receive some points depending on the amount of money they spend. However, some have ordered multiple times in the past week but haven’t received any points.

went to have dinner on the 14 and still haven’t gotten my rewards points. Was told system was down. It’s been down more then a week?

@ChipotleTweets fix your app please 😭 I’ve scanned the last five times in person and since the new update I have not gotten any points

According to reports, the issue seems to have started after the latest app update. The mobile app no longer records customers’ purchases or transactions preventing them from earning reward points.

Chipotle’s FAQ page states that it generally takes around 24-48 hours for the points to process and show up in users’ accounts. But this isn’t the case for many as they haven’t received any points for the last week.

Troubleshooting steps like restarting the device or even reinstalling the app do not help fix the problem.

Unfortunately, Chipotle support has not yet acknowledged the issues related to the points system not working correctly. This means that affected customers may have to wait indefinitely for a fix.

An affected user who allegedly contacted Chipotle claims that points were manually added to their account by the support team. The user was also asked not to talk about this issue on social media.

I had my team reach out to corporate. Sounds like they strong-armed them into manually adding some points to my account if I agreed to not take this to the media (hope this isn’t a violation lol). They claim points are taking up to 7 days to be added.

This hints at the possibility of them being aware of the ongoing issues but choosing to stay silent due to some reason. However, there is no way to confirm this assumption at the moment.

We hope the developers are able to find the root cause behind the problem and fix it at the earliest. We’ll keep an eye on this matter and update this story to reflect notewothy developments.
