Spotify is one of the largest and most popular music streaming platforms in the world. It also lets users listen to various artists and podcasts.

One of the best things about this streaming app is that it regularly receives updates and new features that make it more user friendly and exciting to use.

However, the platform is also riddled with various bugs and issues, and you can check out the same in our dedicated Spotify bug tracker.

Spotify playing wrong podcast episode from Search

That said, some Spotify users have taken to the community forum to report an issue where the platform is not playing the podcast episode from the Search box. It is rather abruptly playing the one that is not even selected.

[iOS] Wrong podcast episode played from Search
We’ve received multiple reports that when a podcast episode is played from the Search bar, another episode gets played instead of the one selected. This is happening on iOS devices.

Reports indicate that the issue is only affecting the iOS users and constantly fails to play the selected podcast episode.

One of those affected claims that Spotify always starts playing the most recent podcast episode. Even after trying numerous times, it doesn’t play any of the older episodes of the podcasts altogether.

It seems that some users have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but to no avail. Even logging in and out of their Spotify accounts doesn’t help fix the issue.

Issue acknowledged

Fortunately, the issue where Spotify is playing the wrong podcast episode from Search bar has been acknowledged. The bug is currently under investigation but no ETA for a fix is available yet.
