Character.AI is a popular chatbot program where users can freely converse and get human-like responses. The company allows users to create personalized bots with specific parameters as well.

Along with this, one can also communicate with digital avatars of the most well-known and enduring people. However, some are disappointed as they have been facing some issues.

Multiple Character.AI users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are frustrated as the bots keep forgetting things mentioned in a conversation.

Some claim that the bots keep forgetting their name while others allege that the bots forget their age repeatedly.

To make matters worse, bots sometimes even forget information about themselves as well. Due to this, the conversation becomes uninteresting and boring for many.

And to add to the annoyance, users’ recent and saved chats are also getting deleted as soon as they switch to another website.

Some are also experiencing difficulties when creating customized bots as the profound features or personality traits of the bot are not saved.

I’ve had a chat with one of the bots today, but whenever I leave the website, then go back on – it has completely deleted the chat I had with them and goes back to an older conversation.

Users have even switched to alternative AI bots, like ChatGPT. Those affected are also requesting the developers to fix this issue quickly so that they can use the chatbot as intended.

05:25 pm (IST): An alliance between Character.AI and Google Cloud was recently confirmed with the aim of enhancing Conversational AI services.

One of the advantages for the Character.AI service is that it will now use Google Cloud’s Tensor Processor Units (TPUs) to train itself.

According to the statement, this will result in faster and more efficient processing, which could positively impact the performance of the bots.
