Original story follows:
At the recent I/O 2023 event, Google introduced their new generation Pixel Tablet. It has an iconic Pixel design, new Tensor Gen 2 chip, AI-powered features, and an 11-inch display.
However, it appears that Google forgot to upgrade its tablet’s display to match the current display standards.
While the industry has moved on to high refresh rate displays of 120Hz and even 144Hz, Google is still stuck with the basic 60Hz screen with its new Pixel Tablet.
On the top of 60Hz display, the tablet comes with an IPS LCD panel which is another big blow to the consumers. At a price of $499, you would expect the device to feature an OLED or at least an AMOLED display.
Google Pixel Tablet 60Hz refresh rate a dealbreaker for some
After the Pixel Tablet went official, many users have taken to social media to express their frustration over the lack of a high refresh rate display.

Nope I take what I said back. I’m only buying iPads and Galaxy tabs. I just found out the Pixel Tablet is 60hz. I’m out. I’m definitely not getting a Pixel tablet now. Maybe in the future but passing for now. For what I like to do which is draw on tablets 60hz ain’t it. ππΎππΎππΎ (Source)
Cannot believe the Pixel Tablet display is only 60hz. My wife had her S23U on 60 hz when she first got it I literally thought her phone was lagging. As soon as I switched, it was buttery smooth. My eyes are too used to 120hz. I can’t go back. Sorry, not sorry. (Source)
Display quality and the refresh rate are critical factors for some users when choosing a tablet, especially if they plan to use it for gaming or other applications that require quick and accurate responses.
While the Google Pixel tablet’s 60Hz screen refresh rate is not ideal for everyone and is a dealbreaker for some, there are still many people who find it to be a great device.
Ultimately, the decision to purchase a tablet with a 60Hz screen refresh rate depends on each individual’s needs and preferences.
For those who value a high-quality display experience, there are many newer tablets on the market that offer much higher refresh rates and may be a better option.
