Last year, Google rolled out an update that introduced the support for Google Wallet payments to the Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4.

However, ever since its release users have been facing issues in using the Wallet app on their smart wearables.

Google Wallet issues on Sense 2 still persist

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Sense 2 owners are experiencing issues in using the Google Wallet.

Users are allegedly facing difficulties while adding cards or finding and opening the app on their smart wearables. However, they don’t face any such issues on their smartphone.

One of those affected says that despite the Fitbit app update, they cannot add their card details to the Google Wallet app on Sense 2.

On trying to do so they get an ‘You won’t be able to use this card please contact your bank’ error message. And to make matters worse, contacting the bank could not help solve their problem.

Another user complains that they are unable to find the app on their fitness tracker.

Have received new credit and debit cards wish to change wallet details can’t gain access to wallet.

Those affected are now requesting Google to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Potential workaround (Sense 2)

Unfortunately, Google has not yet officially acknowledged this issue. But luckily, we did come across some potential workarounds that might help solve your problem.

If you are experiencing problems in opening the app, then it is recommended that you clear all data for the ‘Google Play services’ app as mentioned here.

It should be noted that doing so will remove all the saved card data, but fortunately, the Wallet app will restore to a functional state.

And those who are unable to find the app can try pressing the button on their smartwatch twice to access the shortcuts of the installed apps.

@jormig123 Thanks for the details, and checking the Fitbit app on your phone. In addition to @LZeeW’s post, make sure to press the button of your Sense 2 in order to open and find the apps installed on your watch. You can also try press the button twice to open the shortcuts and tap on the Wallet icon at the bottom right corner.

Nevertheless, the troubles of Google Wallet users don’t end up here.

Google Wallet issues on Versa 4

Multiple Versa 4 owners (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) are also experiencing issues in adding card details on the app. It is alleged that one gets an ‘Uh oh! Looks like we don’t support this card for use with Fitbit Pay’ error

While on the other hand, those who were able to successfully add the details for their first card are unable to do so again. They claim that the app does not open after feeding the card details.

Hello, I am trying to setup Google Wallet on my Veraa 4. I clicked the Fitbit Wallet on my watch and it opened the Wallet app and I was able to setup a card. However, the watch still display Fitbit Wallet and Google Wallet is not present on the watch.

Interestingly, some are even unable to find the Fitbit Wallet and Google Wallet apps on their smartwatch.
