YouTube TV has been growing in popularity among cord-cutters, providing a platform for the live streaming of television shows and sports events.

The service is available through various devices, including smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs as a standalone subscription or as an add-on through some mobile carriers and internet providers, such as Verizon.

However, some YouTube TV subscribers through Verizon have been reporting issues with their bill payment (1,2,3,4,5).

According to reports, some YouTube TV customers who use Verizon have been receiving emails from YouTube indicating that their payment method needs to be updated.

The email states their monthly payment was declined and that they need to update their payment method or risk losing access to their membership benefits.

This issue has been causing confusion and frustration for some subscribers, who have been charged by Verizon. Also, they checked that their payment information is correct and up-to-date.

The issue appears to be related to Verizon’s billing system, which is being used to process payments for YouTube TV subscriptions.

@verizonfios @VerizonSupport Hi. I pay for YouTube TV through you. I am getting a message from YouTube TV that my payment method needs to be updated. I contacted Verizon support and they wouldn’t help resolve. Even disconnected the chat. Terrible.

It’s been getting worse and worse, at first my payments got denied (for some reason) and my money was taken away from my card. Now I tried paying my account with @Verizon and it shows as I still have to purchase the service.

Due to this issue, YouTube TV users are unable to watch their favorite programs.

Issue acknowledged

Luckily, YouTube support didn’t take too long to acknowledge this issue and they have confirmed that the team is working to resolve it as soon as possible. However, there’s no ETA for the fix.

There has been a few other reports — the engineering team is working with Verizon to get this sorted out. I don’t have a timeline yet, but will post an update here, once I get more info.
