Apple has a complete ecosystem of both hardware and software products. The company offers its own alternatives to services from another giant like Google.
Apple Maps is one of those alternative services that seek to attract the attention of Apple users. However, it seems that currently several are experiencing issues with it.
Multiple reports indicate that Apple Maps is down, not working or loading at the time of writing this story, preventing its use.
Apple Maps down, not working or loading
It looks like the Apple Maps outage has been around for a few hours now. Currently, every guide and saved location is missing from user accounts. The navigation feature is not working either.
@AppleSupport Today every single one of my Apple Maps guides and saved locations disappeared and I can’t recover them…please fix this???

There is still no official word on this issue from the Apple team, which is striking since Maps is one of the company’s current key services.
However, this would not be the first time that one of Apple’s services has experienced a relatively long outage. Something similar happened a few weeks ago with Apple Weather app, which was down for days.
So, for the moment, affected users will have to resort to alternatives (such as Google Maps) for navigation. However, they still won’t have access to all guides or saved locations they had in Apple Maps.
We will be monitoring the situation to update this story as events develop in the future.
