Here’s the crux of the article in video form:
Redfall was recently released for players all around the world. While expectations were already on the lower side, the game has still managed to disappoint players.
Most gamers who tried the game at launch are disliking (1,2,3,4,5) it for being boring, soulless, and objectively bad when it comes to game design and creativity.
Disappointing launch
As soon as the embargo was lifted, critics’ reviews started showing up. Unsurprisingly, almost all reviews (1,2,3,4) were negative and did not recommend buying the game, especially at this stage.

ACG, a respected YouTube content creator, calls it one of the worst games they’ve played in 2023. Fans of Arkane (the studio behind Redfall) are disappointed as they expected much more from the developers.
Redfall is half-baked, the animations are poorly done, the writing feels bad, and the gunplay isn’t great either. According to a player, some of the cutscenes are so bad that it feels like a 2014 game.
Apart from the most obvious issues, the controls are flawed as well. gamers claim that controls feel unresponsive, sluggish, and laggy for some reason. This further hinders the experience of an already bad game.
On mouse and keyboard it feels like everything is sluggish and had drag. I tried using a controller and everything was to sticky. Games unplayable for me currently.

why did they make the controls (sensitivity/input response) feel so…..sticky?

While there are some who expect Redfall to slowly get better with updates, a lot of them do not seem as patient as they have already started asking for refunds.
Redfall players claiming refunds
Naturally, those who bought the game at the heavy price of $70 expecting good quality are either looking forward to or already claiming refunds on platforms like Steam.

If you’ve just purchased it, do note that Steam gives you a two-hour window to ask for a refund. If you’re unsatisfied with the game and do not expect things to get any better with future updates, getting a refund is the best option.
Funnily enough, even those who played Redfall on the Xbox Game Pass are mockingly asking for a Refund. We hope the developers look into the issues and resolve them as soon as possible.
#Redfall is on PC gamepass and I still want a full $70 refund for it. It’s that bad.
