Based on the Wear OS, the Google Pixel Watch is quite a popular smartwatch used by people across the globe. Its premium look and heavy integration with Fitbit, Pixel, and smart home devices give it an edge over its competitors.

The smartwatch comes with many other useful features, such as support for Google Assistant, Google Maps, and SPO2 sensor which helps in easing out one’s life.

However, some are dissatisfied.

Google Pixel Watch SPO2 sensor still not working

Some Google Pixel Watch owners (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) complain that they are unable to use the SPO2 sensor on their smartwatches.

Although, these smartwatches have the sensor inbuilt, it is not enabled out of the box due to FDA-related reasons. Earlier, users had been anticipating that the feature will be enabled by Google after an update.

However, that has not happened to date even after repeated assurances from Google. This is certainly a piece of bad news for all those who have purchased this watch to track their SPO2 levels due to medical conditions.

And understandably the smartwatch owners have got disappointed and taken to the web forums in order to enquire about the feature availability.

Those affected are now requesting Google to enable the SPO2 sensor as soon as possible so that they can use the smartwatch as intended.

No official response

Sadly, Google has not officially responded to the matter yet. But we are hopeful that Google will soon fix the problem where the Pixel Watch SPO2 sensor is not working.

Having said that, we’ll keep an eye on this issue and update this article to reflect noteworthy information.

Update 1 (June 16, 2023)

05:40 pm (IST): Google recently released an update for the Pixel watches that allows one to monitor their health with SpO2 sensors, keep a close eye on their heart rate, and access Google Assistant in more languages.
