Developed by Zwift Inc, Zwift is one of the well-known online physical training apps that allows one to interact and compete in a virtual world.
The developers recently released v1.34 update for the app which introduces bug fixes to some known issues and stability improvements.
For instance, the patch fixed the issues where HoloReplays would fly if they were on the Alpe, and the start time for Time Trial events appeared incorrectly.
The update also fixed an issue that caused duplicate race results to be saved when completing a race. However, it looks like the latest patch has introduced some bugs as well.
Zwift current gear indicator not displayed on Wattbike
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple users are experiencing difficulties using their Wattbikes as the current gear level is not being displayed.
Generally, the current gear level appears below RPM and BPM readings. However, after the recent update, the indicator has disappeared from the HUD display on the Zwift app.
The issue has been persistent for the past few weeks and remains unresolved until now.
One of those affected says that after the recent update, they have to switch their gears all the way down and back up in order to get the exact gear count.

Those affected have even tried tinkering with app settings, resetting, uninstalling, and reinstalling the app, but to no avail. But luckily, one can check their gear level using the Wattbike Hub app.

As it turns out, the Zwift support team is aware of the issue and is currently working on fixing it. It has been also shared that the bug fix can probably get released on May 3.
We do hope that Zwift will soon fix the bug where the current gear level indicator isn’t appearing on the Wattbike.
