[Updated] Frontier internet down or not working? You're not alone

Based out of Stanford, Connecticut, Frontier Communication previously used to serve rural areas, but they have expanded operations and are now present in some cities as well.

In 2020, it had over 3.57 million users, the majority of which were residential customers. The same year, Frontier Communications filed for bankruptcy and sold their junk bonds.

That said, recent reports from Frontier Internet users indicate that the service is down or not working for many.

Some initially thought it was a problem on their end and tried restarting their router, changing browsers, and clearing cookies but to no avail.

Down detector – a popular service that gives information about live outages – has numerous reports indicating Frontier Internet is indeed down for some.

Many are expressing their frustration on social media platforms like Twitter. And here are some reports from those affected.

@AskFrontier – You have an outage? Tried calling your tech support and received a “greater than one hour” estimated wait time? I cannot wait to drop you like a bad habit once @GetSpectrum figures out how to run fiber 1000 feet to my house… #frontiercommunications #terrible

Same here, everything on my router said it’s connected but none of my devices will connect to the internet, it has to be a widespread outage

Unfortunately, we are yet to come across any official word, but like always, we will be keeping an eye out on the matter and update this article as and when we stumble across more information.

06:36 pm (IST): It appears that the recent outage with Frontier internet has now been resolved as we haven’t come across any fresh reports on Twitter.

10:24 am (IST): Fresh reports on Twitter and Downdetector indicate that Frontier subscribers are currently facing issue with the internet.

While some say that its completly down, others are complaining that they are noticing huge packet loss or slow speeds.

17:22 pm (IST): According to reports on Downdetector, the recent outage with Frontier appears to have been resolved.

13:00 pm (IST): According to fresh reports on Downdetector and Twitter, it seems that Frontier customers are currently experiencing some issues with the internet services.

10:15 am (IST): Multiple user reports on Twitter and Downdetector suggest that Frontier is currently down or not working for many.

Fortunately, the support has acknowledged the issue and said that they are looking for any possible outage.

06:09 pm (IST): It appears that the recent outage with Frontier internet has now been resolved as we haven’t come across any fresh reports.

12:40 pm (IST): Fresh reports on Downdetector and Twitter (1,2) suggest that Frontier subscribers are currently experiencing some issues with the internet services.

15:30 pm (IST): The recent outage seems to have now been resolved.

05:25 pm (IST): According to multiple reports (1,2,3), it appears that Frontier internet services are currently suffering from an outage.

01:20 pm (IST): Fresh reports (1, 2, 3) suggest that some users are still facing issues with Frontier internet.

05:30 pm (IST): Reports related to internet outage have stopped surfacing a few hours ago.

02:39 pm (IST): Frontier internet issues have reappeared for some users (1, 2).

06:30 pm (IST): Lack of reports suggest that the recent outage with Frontier has been resolved.

11:21 am (IST): Frontier internet services are currently down or not working for some users (1, 2, 3, 4).

12:38 pm (IST): It seems that the internet issues reported yesterday have already been resolved.

07:49 am (IST): According the recent user reports (1,2) the internet service is currently down in Florida. The support has confirmed that they are receiving mulitple reports from the area and are investigating the issue.

04:35 pm (IST): Lack of reports suggest that the recent internet outage has been resolved.
