New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on April 21, 2023) follows:
Successor to the Google Pixel 5, the Pixel 6 series is for sure quite an upgrade over its predecessors in terms of camera quality, performance, and design.
However, some Pixel 6 series owners are unhappy as they are unable to get the latest patches timely.
Verizon Google Pixel 6 April patch delayed
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), multiple Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6a and Pixel 6 Pro owners are disappointed as the April 2023 patch has been delayed.
The issue affects those who purchased their devices from Verizon.
Google recently released the April 2023 update for all Pixel devices running Android 13.
This update brings bug fixes to some of the known issues with Bluetooth, the camera, and the system itself. It also introduces the latest security patch.
But Pixel 6 series users on Verizon feel left out as this patch hasn’t arrived. However, it is worth mentioning that this is not the first time the company has delayed monthly updates for Verizon units.

Unfortunately, Verizon has not officially acknowledged this issue. So, it looks like those who purchased Pixel 6 devices through Verizon might have to wait a little longer.
Potential Workaround
Fortunately, you can try sideloading the standard April update. However, it is worth mentioning that doing so will format your smartphone settings and mobile apps.
So, it is recommended that you take a backup of your important data and messages beforehand.

Having said that, we are hopeful that Verizon will release the April patch for Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6a and Pixel 6 Pro devices soon.
In the meantime, we’ll keep tabs on this issue and let you know when something noteworthy comes up.
Update 1 (April 28, 2023)
08:00 pm (IST): If your phone is dual SIM, you can try to disable the Verizon SIM every time Google releases a new update to avoid delays.
