YouTube is one of the leading social media platforms used by people across the globe to entertain themselves.

Thanks to the plethora of content, it successfully caters to the need of people from different backgrounds and interests.

However, some are unhappy as they are experiencing difficulties when signing in to their account.


YouTube two-step verification (2FA) not working for some

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple YouTube users are experiencing difficulties when singing in to their accounts as the two-step verification or 2FA is not working.

Apparently, users do get the 2FA request push notification on the app itself but are unable to approve it as the login prompt doesn’t appear.

Due to this, users have to make use of alternative two-step verification methods to get their logins approved. The issue has been persistent for the past few days and affects users across multiple platforms.


This is understandably disappointing for those who may need to log in to YouTube Studio on different devices to create their daily content.

Notably, some are even locked out of their accounts as they are unable to make use of alternative 2FA methods.

Users have tried to get rid of this problem by resetting the app and uninstalling and reinstalling it but to no effect.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, the YouTube team on Twitter has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently investigating it. However, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.


We are hopeful that YouTube will resolve this problem soon.

That said, we’ll keep tabs on the issue where YouTube two-step verification (2FA) is not working for some users and update this article accordingly.
