Google One VPN causing network issues (connection not secure) for some Pixel 7 owners
Here’s the crux of the article in video form:
Google One VPN is a virtual private network service by Google bundled with cloud storage with a subscription-based model.
The platform offers a private and secure internet connection, but we recently highlighted a problem where the VPN was not working for Pixel 6 and 7 users.
Google One VPN causing network issues for some Pixel 7 owners
Some Pixel 7 users have now been reporting an issue where the Google One VPN is causing certain network issues by blocking internet access (1,2,3).

Does the Google VPN prevent some things from loading? I’ve ran into an issue where certain things don’t load and if I turn the vpn off it loads.

According to reports, Google One VPN restricts the use of the internet by claiming that the connection is not secure. On the other hand, others get a constant ‘Your connection is now private’ notification.
Affected users have even tried resorting to restarting their smartphones in order to get the VPN to connect, but the issue persists.
The issue is incredibly frustrating and some Pixel 7 owners are even flocking to Google Play Store to drop their respective reviews or feedback.

Unfortunately, Google hasn’t acknowledged the issue yet. There is also no workaround that can help resolve the issue temporarily.
Though a Google Product Expert had asked affected users to reset their network settings, it seems that it didn’t work out for them.
We hope that the team does something about this bug and comes up with a solution at the earliest.
We’ll keep tabs on the latest developments and update this article as we come across something noteworthy.
