San Diego Studio recently released the v1.03 update for MLB The Show 23 which addresses some known bugs and introduces gameplay balances.

For instance, the patch fixes the bug where a loss screen was displayed to players prior to starting a game in the playoffs of Mini Seasons.

The latest update also fixed a glitch where a freeze would occur if one made defensive adjustments. However, despite the update, some are facing issues with the gameplay.

Multiple MLB The Show 23 players (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are experiencing difficulties in playing the game’s online mode.

It has been alleged that one gets a ‘Challenge Failed’ error message when they are searching for an opponent to play with.

For some, the issue pops up whenever they try to launch the game via quick resume and allegedly they have to forcefully close and relaunch it.

While others complain that this happens whenever they are trying to play a match on a stadium that they have customized or created.

Gamers have even tried starting a match in Ranked Co-op and casual game modes but with no success.

And this is understandably quite frustrating and annoying for those who want to play matches with their friends. The issue has been persistent for the past few weeks and remains unresolved as of now.

With the aim of getting rid of this problem, some have even tried turning off crossplay and tinkering with in-game and network settings, but to no avail.

Unfortunately, San Diego Studio has not yet officially acknowledged this issue. So it looks like, gamers might have to wait for a while before the bug is fixed.

Fortunately, we did come across a potential workaround that may help resolve the problem for some Xbox players. It is recommended that you delete the saved game data from your console.

In the meantime, we’ll keep tabs on the issue where MLB The Show 23 players get the Challenge Failed error while playing the game in the Online modes.

10:48 am (IST): Some players have been facing the ‘Challenge Failed’ error message again in the last few hours (1, 2).

04:55 pm (IST): Since reports related to the issue stopped surfacing several hours ago, it seems that it has already been fixed.
