Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

Discord ‘Clyde’ is the name of both the logo and the AI chatbot of Discord, a popular chat and community app for gamers and other groups.

Clyde has been around for years as a fake bot that sends system messages to users such as informing them about invalid commands or permissions.

However, Discord ‘Clyde’ is now being upgraded to a real chatbot that can interact with users and provide them with various features and services.

Discord ‘Clyde’ is powered by OpenAI technology, which uses large language models to generate natural and engaging responses.

Discord ‘Clyde’ not working

However, some Discord users are reporting an issue where ‘Clyde’ is not working for them (1,2,3,4,5,6,7).

It is an experimental feature that is currently available for a limited number of Discord servers.

So, when some server admins received a notification indicating they are eligible, they turned it on right away in their server settings.

But even after doing that, server members are unable to chat with Discord ‘Clyde’ by mentioning @Clyde in any text channel or by direct message.

@discord Oi bruv! Clyde does not work after being enabled in my server. How to fixy fix?
Source

Hi @discord! I received a server notice that I was chosen to test Clyde AI. Made sure it is enabled, waiting for 2 days and still can’t @ Clyde. Do I need to wait longer?
Source

Reason behind this

As per Discord, server administrators will be informed a few days before ‘Clyde’ becomes accessible on their server:

This feature is in beta for a small % of servers. Server Admins will be notified a few days before Clyde is available to their server via a banner at the top of their channel list. Admins can also check to see if they have it available by going to Server Settings > Integrations

Therefore, if you get a notification about this feature, you will need to wait a few days before your server’s users can use it.

There are also a few things that you can try. Firstly, ping Clyde in either a public channel or, if that doesn’t work, a thread.

Secondly, the name is case-sensitive so, use @Clyde, with the capital C otherwise it won’t work.

That being said, stay tuned to PiunikaWeb to know if and when there are any further developments regarding the issue.
