Twitter 'bottom bar disappearing while scrolling' on mobile app faces backlash

Twitter is one of the well-known social media platforms used by people across the globe. Recently, it introduced a change for its Android app client, after which the navigation bottom bar no longer remains fixed in place.

However, it looks like this change has not been well received by the platform users.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Twitter users are experiencing difficulties in using the mobile app as the bottom navigation bar allegedly disappears when one starts scrolling.

The company claims that this change has been made with the aim of providing more useful information on a user’s phone screen.

However, after the recent modification, the platform users are getting confused and end up accidentally tapping on the place where the navigation bar buttons were.

Many users have expressed frustration with this change and have criticized the move on Twitter and Reddit.

One of those affected says that after the recent change, they have to scroll up every time they want to use the navigation bar’s functionality.

Surprisingly, this is the first time that a usability change has been introduced on the Android app client before releasing it for the iOS app.
