Youtube is one of the popular platforms used across the globe to share videos or content on a plethora of topics. However, there are certain rules and regulations that need to be followed for sharing content on the website.

And sometimes some videos or channels on a channel can get struck down if they are found to be violating the community guidelines. Recently, some have been unable to file an appeal against such strikes.

YouTube ‘start appeal’ button missing some users

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple users have been experiencing difficulties in making an appeal against strikes made on the content they have created.

Allegedly, they are unable to do so as the button to start an appeal is not available. Owing to this, those affected are unable to raise a review request with the platform.

One of the users says that after accidentally deleting the video that had got striked, they have lost access to the appeal button. Due to this, they are unable to get their video reviewed and restored by the YouTube team.

Some are even surprised to find that without applying for an appeal they are being displayed the re-appeal button.

It is April 6th and I meet all the requirements, yet the reapply button is not available?! not to mention you rejected my appeal that showed how we create alll our content . @TeamYouTube

Official acknowledgment (button missing)

Luckily, the YouTube support team on Twitter has officially acknowledged the issue and is currently investigating it. Although, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

Start appeal button not working

Some YouTube users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) also claim that even though the button is visible to them yet they are unable to start an appeal.

It is alleged that clicking on the button asks one to fill out the form even when they have already filled it out completely.

Also, some claim that clicking on the button leads them to a general help tab.

@TeamYouTube hello YouTube team I want to ask. The appeal option cannot be clicked, every time you click it you are asked to fill out the form.

03:18 pm (IST): YouTube support has acknowledged this issue and they are looking into it.
