NBA 2K23 reportedly crashing on PC after Season 6 update for a section of players

NBA 2K23 recently received the Season 6 update for PC and console on April 7, 2023. The latest patch brought the new season rewards, fresh and exciting soundtracks, and even resolved multiple bugs and issues.

However, not everything is as perfect as it seems. The recent patch has reportedly broken the game for PC players and has made it almost unplayable.

NBA 2K23 crashing on PC

Ever since the April 7 update, PC players have been reporting (1,2,3,4,5,6) severe crashing issues. These crashes occur repeatedly and do not allow gamers to enjoy NBA 2K23 for more than a few minutes in a row.

Even those with fairly high-end systems are experiencing these problems. This indicates that the issue is more related to the game’s code than players’ systems.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t really the first time NBA 2K23 players have reported about such problems. We previously covered a story where PlayStation and Xbox users experienced similar crashes.

It appears that the crashing issues introduced with the latest update only affect PC players at the moment. According to some, every game mode in the PC version of NBA 2K23 is currently affected.

Gamers have already tried various troubleshooting steps like verifying the integrity of game files, updating their GPU drivers, and restarting their systems as well as their game, but to no avail.

While some have speculated that these issues are caused due to the mods installed by the player, this does not seem to be true for the majority. Even the ones with no mods (1,2) are experiencing repeated crashes.

Unfortunately, the developers are yet to comment on the matter. There aren’t any workarounds that can temporarily fix the crashing issues for NBA 2K23 players on PC either.
