Google Home and Google Nest are the popular lineup of smart devices used by people across the globe.

However, some are sad and disappointed as they have recently started facing an issue that affects the audio output on their devices.

Google Home or Nest volume range issue

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Google Home and Nest users claim that the lowest volume range on devices has gotten louder than usual, even at the minimum level.

The issue has been persistent for the past weeks and affects multiple devices. And unfortunately, the developers have still not resolved this problem.

One of those affected says that whenever they turn down the volume of their smart device to the lowest level via the Google Home app it would still remain at 5%.

Also, if they do the same via the device’s audio control panel, there is no change in the audio output.

Another user alleges that while streaming music via Spotify the audio output has gone up. They even mention that the bare minimum volume level sounds higher than the earlier output of 8% volume.

Notably, some Google Nest Hub owners even claim to be getting random changes in the volume levels during playback.

Users have even tried tinkering with audio settings, rebooting their devices, and disconnecting and reconnecting them with different stream services, but without any success.

Fortunately, Google is aware of this issue. However, it has been more than a month and there are no new developments in this regard.

We do hope that Google fixes this glitch soon.

Having said that, we’ll keep tabs on the issue where Nest users are experiencing difficulties in lowering the volume on their Google Home and Nest devices.
