05:42 pm (IST): Recent reports indicate that some Pixel 7 users still hear static or crackling sounds when attending a call with their Bluetooth earbuds. Sadly, they cannot overcome this problem even after turning off the 2G connectivity.

06:20 pm (IST): By glancing at the recent reports, it appears that the sound crackling issue is still troubling some users.

Google Pixel 7 lineup of devices is for sure quite an upgrade as compared to its predecessors. However, these smartphones are also prone to various bugs and issues.

This time, some are getting low-quality Bluetooth audio output. However, it’s worth mentioning that a similar issue was being faced by Pixel 6 series phone owners as well, but fortunately, that got fixed through an update.

Google Pixel 7 static or crackling sound in games, calls, and music

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple users are facing an issue that affects the Bluetooth audio quality. It is alleged that users permanently get a static sound in the background while playing games or attending calls.

They also complain to be getting audio cut out or crackling sounds when playing music.

A user says that they constantly get static sound on their Beltone hearing aids when connected to their Google Pixel 7 Pro via Bluetooth.

They also mentioned that the problem worsens so much within a few minutes that they are unable to hear anything at all.

Another user alleges that whenever they are streaming music or playing YouTube videos with the help of Bluetooth, the audio output cuts out within 5 to 10 seconds. They are facing similar issues with phone calls as well.

Users have even tried restarting their devices, unpairing and re-pairing accessories with Bluetooth, and factory resetting their smartphones, but couldn’t resolve the problem.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that such an issue has popped up. Pixel 7 series owners (1,2,3,4) have faced similar issues in the month of January, and last year as well.

We do hope that Google will resolve this problem shortly.

Until then, we’ll keep tabs on the issue where the Google Pixel 7 users get static or crackling sound in games, calls, and music when connected to a Bluetooth device.
