Apple recently released another standalone music streaming app called Apple Music Classical. While this is certainly good news for music lovers, the team also needs to address a few problems with the current Apple Music app.
For instance, we recently came across a bug where certain songs in the app appeared grayed out for some users.
Apple Music freezing & restarting after iOS 16.4 update
And now, Apple Music users have taken to various social media platforms and the official community forum to report that the app is constantly freezing and restarting after the iOS 16.4 update (1,2,3,4,5).
@AppleMusic @Apple ever since i updated my iOS to 16.4 on my iPhone 13 my Apple Music keeps freezing and closes randomly, it’s weird
@AppleMusic Bug report: in 16.4, every time you try to delete a song from your library, the app freezes and crashes
Reports suggest that every time a user attempts to access the ‘Playing next’ page in My Library and clicks on the ‘Shuffle’ or ‘Play Next’ icon, everything freezes.
Moreover, the app also crashes when someone deletes or removes a song from the queue or the library.
It is incredibly frustrating for users as Apple Music is now unusable after the iOS 16.4 update. What’s even more annoying is the fact that the issue hasn’t been acknowledged by the team yet.
There are also no workarounds that can help fix the issue at the moment. So those affected will have to wait for the team to come up with a permanent resolution.
We’ll keep tabs on the latest developments and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
