YouTube is one of the most popular streaming platforms catering to the needs of millions of users. One can easily share videos with the world by creating a channel on the platform.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), multiple YouTube users are facing an issue where they are seeing blocked channels on there recommendations.

The issue has been persistent for the past few weeks and affects users across multiple platforms. Those affected have taken to social media to express their views.

One of those affected says that even after blocking some annoying channels, they still get them in their recommendations list.

Another user also claims to be seeing the channels in search results after having blocked them on the YouTube app for Android.

Why is @YouTube block not working. I blocked several channels there but they are still appearing on my recommendations. Why?

What’s the point of blocking a @YouTube channel if that channel still shows up in your search results

Some have even questioned the point of having the future available on the platform.

Official response (Blocking channel)

Fortunately, the YouTube support team on Twitter has officially responded to this matter and has stated that they are looking into it. Although, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

However, the troubles of YouTube users don’t end up here.

Some users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), also allege that the ‘dont recommend this channel’ option does not work properly. And understandably they are frustrated and annoyed.

Another user says that as soon as they refresh the YouTube homepage, the annoying channels show up.
