Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

After the March patch, several Google Pixel users are experiencing an issue where lock screen notifications are not appearing on their devices.

This issue has been reported (1,2,3,4,5) on various Pixel models, including the Pixel 7, Pixel 6, and Pixel 5a.

Google Pixel lock screen notifications not showing

Users have stated that their devices appear to be missing certain lock screen notifications following the security update.

No notifications on apps as of a few days ago (Pixel 6 Pro)
So I have a Pixel 6 Pro on Verizon, and as of a few days ago I’m not getting notifications for almost every app. I have notifications turned on, apps have them on, the settings inside the apps themselves have notifications turned on, and I still don’t see them.

Pixel 7 – Some lock screen notifications gone after March update
Hi. As the title says, after the March update I seem to be missing some lock screen icons/notifications. When I unlock my phone, I see the notifications, but they are not visible when the phone is at the lock screen.

Users claim that even though the notifications/alerts are hidden on the lock screen, they are able to view them without any issue while the phone is unlocked.

Moreover, we highlighted a similar issue with some Pixel 7 models last year where users were not getting the lock screen notifications.

Allegedly, this time the issue is mainly affecting the applications that utilize mobile data.

Those who just want to have a look at the notifications with a glance are quite frustrated since they now must first unlock the phone every time they get alerts.

Potential workarounds

We have come across some workarounds that may help fix the issue temporarily. You can check them out below:

Go to Settings > Notifications > Notifications on Lock Screen and set it to “Show conversations, default, and silent” and they’ll show back up.

They seemed to have added a new setting. I ran into the same thing.
Go to Settings > Notifications > Notifications on Lock Screen and set it to “Show conversations, default, and silent” and they’ll show back up.

Some are also able to fix the issue by resetting their app preferences.

Some are also resetting the factory settings of their devices in order to fix the issue where notifications are not showing on the lock screen.

Went through this hell recently on P6P. Tried everything, at the end this is what fixed it – Erase all data (factory reset)

Something inherently broke with sync across the board & wasn’t fixable until full wipe.

However, this should only be considered as a last resort as it will erase all data and settings from the device.

Google has not yet released an official statement regarding this issue, so it’s unclear whether it’s related to software or hardware. However, it is possible that it may be addressed in future updates.
