These types of attacks on YouTube channels have become increasingly common. Those responsible look at channels with a large user base to have many potential victims.

This time, it’s been Linus Tech Tips’ turn, whose YouTube channel is currently running Bitcoin-related live streams inviting people to ‘make money’. However, this is nothing more than a scam attempt.

Once these types of hacks are successful, live streams related to cryptocurrencies are a common practice. During these, hackers often ask viewers for money, promising to return a much larger amount in crypto.

So, if you are one of the many Linus Tech Tips followers, avoid at all costs sending money or cryptos to the addresses that hackers are sharing. Although the scam’s intent may be obvious to some, others might fall for it.

To give credibility to this type of scam, hackers often use a video of a conversation between people related to the Bitcoin or cryptocurrency world in the live stream. In this case, even Elon Musk can be seen in the video.

Another common practice of those who carry out this type of attack is that once they succeed, they begin to remove the original videos from the channel. Sadly, that is also happening now.
