Mojang Studios recently released the v1.19.70 patch for Minecraft which introduces some gameplay balances and quality-of-life improvements to the game.

For instance, the patch introduces improvements to horse breeding, emotes system, and vanilla parity. Along with this, bug fixes to gameplay, mobs, touch controls, realms, and much more were included with the update as well.

However, some are facing issues after this update.


Minecraft not loading or stuck on 66% for some console players

Some Minecraft players (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are experiencing difficulties while trying to load the game. It is alleged that the game cannot fully load and gets stuck at 66% progress.

The issue has been persistent for the past few days and only affects console players.


I have an issue with the game on ps5 the game gets stuck at 66% and won’t start the game does anyone have a solution?

Haven’t played minecraft in years and the game is stuck loading at 66%.

Official acknowledgment

Luckily, Mojang support on Twitter has officially acknowledged the issue and has asked those affected to fill out this form for further assistance.


Potential workaround

Fortunately, we did come across some potential workarounds that may help solve your problem. First, you can try disabling the network connectivity on your device and then try launching the game.

Alternatively, you can switch your device into airplane mode, reboot it, and then launch Minecraft with airplane mode enabled.

In the end, if nothing works, then update the existing installation or reinstall a fresh copy of the game.


We do hope that Mojang Studios resolves the issues soon.

Having said that, we’ll keep tabs on the issue where Minecraft is not loading or is stuck on 66% for some console players and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.

Update 1 (March 20, 2023)

2:25 pm (IST): As per a recent report by a user, a hot fix has been released for the game. However, its crucial to note that it’s still not fully available for devices like Switch.
