[Updated] Hogwarts Legacy 'Infamous Foes' challenge stuck at 11/12 & 'Moth not spawning or showing up' issues under investigation
Here’s the crux of the article in video form
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on March 7, 2022) follows:
Hogwarts Legacy has become one of the most popular titles in the role-playing genre just within a short span of time.
Recently, Portkey games announced the release of the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has been delayed as they were unable to get enough time to deliver the ‘best possible experience’.
And looking at the frequency of bugs and issues with the game, it just looks right.
Hogwarts Legacy ‘Infamous Foes’ challenge stuck at 11/12
In this challenge, one needs to defeat 12 special enemies or ‘Infamous Foes’ who are scattered throughout the Hogwarts Legacy’s world.
However, gamers allege that they are unable to complete this quest as the progress gets stuck at 11/12 even after killing all the foes. Also, one is unable to find another foe after they all have been defeated.
The issue has been persistent for the past few days and affects players across multiple platforms.
I’ve seen posts about this but still can’t figure out which I’m missing. I have killed all infamous foes per the map, but my collection still says 11/12. I already went to the Coastal Mines, and it’s not that one. Thoughts?
I’ve defeated all 12 infamous foes but the challenge tracker is only saying 11/12, can anyone recommend what to do as it’s stopping me getting to 100%, thanks.
Those affected are now requesting the developers to resolve this issue.
Official acknowledgment (Infamous Foes Challenge)
Fortunately, the WB games support team on Twitter has responded to the matter and is currently investigating this bug. But no official ETA for the bug fix has been given.
Potential workaround (Infamous Foes Challenge)
We did come across a potential workaround that may help solve your problem. A Redditor recommends that you try completing the remaining side quests or tasks.
However, the troubles of Hogwarts legacy players don’t end up here.
Moth not spawning or showing up in Hogwarts Legacy
Multiple quests in the game rely on Moths to appear or spawn in certain map areas. They usually don’t appear or spawn in the Slytherin dungeon, portraits or mirrors and Bell towers.
A player on Twitter says that the moth doesn’t show up in the dungeons causing them to get stuck.
Another adds that the moth mirror at the tower courtyard near the history of magic classroom does not appear.
I think I may have put the wrong moth into the wrong picture. I am trying to put a moth into a picture in the Bell tower. The moth near the sphynx is not there and the only moth around is the one in the west tower, but it is out of reach. Please help.
The Moth for the Slytherin Dungeon isn’t spawning after using Lumos on the frame.
Due to this glitch, some players are unable to complete the game. The affected one’s have even tried casting the ‘Revelio’ spell, manually saving and reloading the game but to no avail.
Workaround for moth puzzles
Gamers can try the workaround mentioned below. Also, those who are facing this issue in the Bell Tower wing can also try another workaround recommended by a Redditor.
We do hope that Portkey Games resolves the problems soon.
In the meantime, we’ll keep tabs on the issue where the Hogwarts Legacy ‘Infamous Foes’ challenge is stuck at 11/12 and ‘Moth is not spawning or showing up’ and update the article accordingly.
Update 1 (March 14, 2023)
12:37 pm (IST): It seems that the recent Hogwarts Legacy patch did not bring a fix for the ‘Infamous Foes’ challenge tracker. WB Games team confirmed that the issue is still under investigation, without an ETA for a fix.
